In a series of tragic events that shook the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, another beloved actor,

Chikezie Uwazie, met an untimely demise. News of his passing, which followed closely on the heels of the deaths of popular actors Saint Obi and Murphy Afolabi, sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment community.

Chikezie Uwazie breathed his last in the United States of America just a few days ago, succumbing to the complications of a second brain surgery. He had relocated to the United States over seven years ago, leaving behind a vibrant career in Nigeria.

During his time in Nollywood, Chikezie Uwazie emerged as one of the leading stars of the early 2000s, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. He graced the screens in numerous films, showcasing his talent and captivating audiences with his performances. One notable production he featured in was the critically acclaimed movie titled "Musical Whispers." The film, centered around the topic of autism, was skillfully produced by Ebele Okaro and directed by the visionary Bond Emeruwa. Chikezie Uwazie also left his mark on the film "Village Destroyer," where he shared the screen with renowned actors such as Osita Iheme and Ugo Ugbor. Additionally, he showcased his acting prowess in "Last Kiss," a movie that featured an ensemble cast including Emeka Ike, Ini Edo, Ejike Asiegbu, and Mercy Johnson Okojie, among several other talented performers.

Upon hearing the devastating news, Chikezie's colleague, Obey Etok Chima, took to Facebook to share her grief. She expressed her disbelief and sorrow, recalling their conversations about Chikezie's aspirations to seek greener pastures in the United States. However, he never returned as promised. The sudden news of his demise left her reeling in shock. In her heartfelt post, Obey Etok Chima wrote, "I can't imagine I'm posting this. Chikezie Uwazie goneeeee. After a 2nd brain surgery. Gini na emezi. I am so shocked to get this news this evening. Just got this from our IMSU alumni platform. I thought you told me you were going to the states for greener pastures. You promised to come back some years back, but I didn't see you. Can't believe you are gone, but God knows best. Rest on Chyko."

The unfortunate passing of Chikezie Uwazie marks the third tragic loss within the Nollywood community in a span of just three days, following the deaths of Saint Obi and Murphy Afolabi.
