The Nigerian Army has issued a warning to those who are planning to disrupt the
inauguration of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29th, stating that the event will proceed as planned. Speaking to reporters in Abuja, Director of Defence Media Operation, Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, said that the military sees no reason why the inauguration would not take place.While acknowledging that the police are the
lead agency for internal security, Danmadami emphasized that the Armed Forces
and other security operatives are on standby to ensure that the inauguration
proceeds without incident. He added that there is a transition committee in
place, comprising members of the security agencies, ministries, and government
agencies to ensure the success of the event.
Danmadami stated that the Nigerian Army is
committed to ensuring peace and stability throughout the country and will not
relent in its efforts. He also addressed concerns about security in Kaduna,
particularly in Southern Kaduna, urging residents to detach the military from
any form of sentiment. He noted that when allegations are raised, a board of
inquiry would be established to investigate the allegations, and any outcomes
or recommendations would be implemented accordingly.
