Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman of Kwara State has been appointed as the new Chairman of the
Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF). In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, it was announced that Governor AbdulRazaq was unanimously chosen for this esteemed position by his fellow governors.Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Governor
AbdulRazaq acknowledged the significance and weight of the office. He expressed
his commitment to upholding the ideals and vision of the NGF, recognizing its
role as a credible and influential platform for consensus building and the
peaceful resolution of issues concerning Nigeria's national goals, interests,
and aspirations.
In the statement, Governor AbdulRazaq said, "I want to
thank Allah, exalted is He, for the historic event in which my brother
Governors bestowed upon me the Chairmanship of the Nigeria Governors' Forum
(NGF)." He pledged to engage in regular consultations with all members of
the NGF to reach consensus on various matters, with the ultimate aim of
promoting national interest, peace, progress, and stability.
Governor AbdulRazaq also emphasized the importance of
maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the
President, the National Assembly, federal and state institutions, the business
community, civil society, media, and development partners. By fostering close
and cordial ties with these entities, the NGF aims to enhance cooperation and
collaboration for the betterment of Nigeria.
In concluding his statement, Governor AbdulRazaq expressed
