"Calm Down" singer Rema enters Guinness World Record

Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has accomplished yet another impressive feat in his career as a Nigerian music sensation. His hit single, ‘Calm Down’, has made history by becoming the first-ever No.1 hit on The Official MENA Chart - the world’s first regional streaming chart.

The news of Rema’s Guinness World Book of Records entry was announced via a tweet shared on the singer’s statistics Twitter account on Saturday. The statement in the tweet read, “Calm Down by #heisrema marks entry on the Guinness Book as it has won the First No.1 Hit on The Official MENA Chart (the world’s first regional streaming chart) Record.”

Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ achieved this groundbreaking record when it debuted at the top of the MENA Chart, which was launched by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry on November 29, 2022. The chart covers countries in the Middle East and North Africa, and it represents the first-ever official chart in the region.

Rema’s achievement was significant, as it not only marked his entry into the Guinness World Book of Records but also recognized him as the first artist to secure a number 1 hit on the MENA Chart. This achievement cements Rema’s place as one of Nigeria’s most promising and accomplished music stars.
