Dr. Sam Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has provided advice to President Muhammadu Buhari regarding his ministers and aides, warning him to be cautious of those
who may try to embezzle funds from the country. Amadi's comments were prompted by the recent news that the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Abubakar Sirika, had purchased ten firefighting trucks for N12 billion.Minister Sirika announced the purchase on social media,
stating that safety has been a focus of Buhari's administration since 2015, and
that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had not purchased new
trucks in 15 years.
However, Amadi, who was formerly the Chairman of the
Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), expressed concern about the
cost of the firefighting trucks, stating that N1.2 billion for a single truck
might just be the tip of the iceberg.
Amadi took to Twitter to question when relevant agencies
would begin Sirika's prosecution, urging people to keep an eye on Buhari's
ministers and aides in these final days, as they may try to siphon funds from
the country.
