I lost N500 million – AY Comedian

AY, the popular comedian and film actor, recently revealed in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, about his experience of losing 500 million Naira due to a failed nightclub business.

AY stated that he invested a huge sum of money into the business and it eventually crashed.

AY went on to explain that his wife had advised him against opening a non-smoking nightclub, but he ignored her advice. He later realized that this decision was the cause of the business's failure. He narrated how he used to visit the club on Fridays, only to find it empty, without realizing that having a non-smoking club was not suitable for that type of business.

The reason behind AY's decision to make it a non-smoking club was that his wife always came home with her hair smelling of smoke after visiting nightclubs. However, he did not realize that this was a crucial factor in attracting customers to such establishments.

AY said that he was motivated to start the nightclub business by the success he had in filling up event centers for his comedy shows. He believed that if he could gather 6,000 people at Eko Hotel for a comedy show, he could also gather 100 to 200 people buying drinks in a nightclub. However, he realized that this was not the case and it was not his calling.

AY admitted that it was important to have the right partner, and his wife was strongly against the idea of opening a nightclub. However, he ignored her advice and went ahead with his plan. He acknowledged that there are people who are doing it right and succeeding in the nightclub business, but he realized that it was not for him.

AY concluded by saying that he learned a valuable lesson from his experience, and that it is important to listen to advice and make informed decisions, especially in business
