Actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has expressed her disappointment towards the performance of
Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike, and other Nigerians during the recently concluded 2023 presidential election. She took to social media to voice her opinion and criticize those who did not perform their duties well in service to their country. In a
video that has been circulating on social media, Tonto Dikeh called out these
"backstabbers" and asked them if they were enjoying the glory of what
they did to Jesus Christ. She made this comment during the Easter celebration,
a time when Christians commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Tonto
Dikeh's statement carries a strong connotation, as she likens the actions of
those who did not do well in the election to the betrayal of Jesus Christ by
his friend, Peter, leading to his crucifixion. The actress-politician seems to
suggest that the lack of integrity and betrayal of trust by these individuals
is akin to the actions of Peter, which resulted in the suffering and death of
Jesus Christ.
Tonto
Dikeh's expression of her disappointment towards the performance of politicians
and individuals in the country is not new. She has been vocal about her
political views and aspirations in the past and has not hesitated to call out
those who fall short of her expectations.
On her Instagram page she
said; "Hello backstabbers, hello snitches, hello betrayals. This is your week, I hope
you bask in the glory of what you did to the Lord Jesus Christ and you're doing to us
today... It is your week, I celebrate you. Una do am to Jesus, who I be?"
