Bright Okpocha, who is more commonly known as Basketmouth, recently spoke out
about his alleged friendship with fellow Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun, or AY, in a podcast interview with the Honest Bunch on Glitch Africa. This comes after AY accused Basketmouth of being cold towards him over a debt of N30,000 and after Basketmouth had remained quiet on the issue.During the
interview, Basketmouth denied being friends with AY, contradicting what had
been portrayed by AY in the past. Basketmouth went on to say that AY was not
being truthful about the debt issue, as he had in fact been paid the money in
question. Basketmouth also claimed that he would not have had a relationship
with AY even without the debt issue, as he had no need to work with AY and had
access to very competent people around him.
According to
Basketmouth, there was no evidence of a friendship between him and AY on social
media, as there were no pictures of the two of them together. He added that he
had never been to AY's house nor had he invited AY to his own home.
Additionally, Basketmouth had never called AY to hang out, making it clear that
there was no friendship between them.
Overall,
Basketmouth's statements make it clear that he and AY were never close friends,
contrary to what had previously been suggested. Basketmouth also disputes AY's
claims about the debt and highlights the competent team he had around him,
indicating that he had no need for a relationship with AY.
