Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, has urged his supporters to
respond to attacks from the opposition with equal measure. Speaking at the National Executive Council meeting of the party in Asaba, Obi emphasized that while responding to attacks, his supporters must abide by the law of the land.Obi encouraged Nigerians to remain calm and steadfast in their quest to
reclaim their mandate of a New Nigeria. He acknowledged that the journey would
not be easy as the forces who had benefited from the old order were bound to
fight back. However, he reiterated the determination of the group involved in
this project to resist intimidation or harassment from any quarter while
remaining law-abiding.
Obi declared his commitment to a Nigeria that would benefit every
Nigerian, stating that the struggle to reclaim the mandate was not about him,
but millions of Nigerians who trusted him with their votes. He promised to lift
people out of poverty and transform Nigeria, starting from the North to every
part of the nation.
Obi acknowledged that there may be more mudslinging against him from
those who are against the emergence of the New Nigeria, but he would not be
deterred by the obstacles along the way to victory. He emphasized that he had
always lived his life in the most law-abiding manner possible and encouraged
his supporters to do the same.
The statement released by the Obi-Datti Media office titled “Obi at
Labour Party NEC Meeting, calls for Calm and Steadfast to the Course”
highlighted Obi's commitment to the Nigerian people and his determination to
lead them to a better future. He urged his supporters to remain steadfast in
the face of adversity and not give up on the nation.
