Delta Commissioner of
Police, Ari Muhammed Ali made the disclosure in Asaba on Wednesday while
parading suspects arrested for various crimes by the Police Command.
Ali said the suspect
confessed to masterminding the disappearance of his daughter upon interrogation
after his arrest.
He said that on July 20,
a case of the missing 21-year old Stephanie was reported at ‘B’ Division,
Warri, prompting the Command to issue a press statement to the effect.
“Members of the public
who saw the publication on various online media and newspapers informed the
police that she was seen around Okpaka in Udu. The police moved to the area and
arrested a friend of the girl. The suspect confessed that the father of the
girl, Mr Solomon Odjivwuderhie asked to please allow the girl to stay with them
for some time.
“The girl’s father was immediately
arrested, and he confessed that he masterminded the girl’s disappearance
because the mother of the girl is owing to the girl’s boss a huge amount of
money close to N50 million. They believe that with the disappearance of the
girl, her boss won’t have the guts to demand his money,’ Ali said.
Although Odjivwuderhie
was not paraded, Mr Ali, while parading other suspects arrested for various
offences, restated the resolve of the Command to rid the state of crime,
warning those with criminal minds to steer clear.
