Chelsea boss Frank Lampard explained
exactly what made him so proud of his side's excellent display in a
comprehensive 3-1 win over Manchester United which sent them to the FA Cup
final where they will meet Arsenal.
Goals from
Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and Antonio Rudiger put the Blues three ahead
before Bruno Fernandes scored a consolation goal from the penalty spot.
United's
David De Gea had an afternoon to forget in goal for Man Utd but Lampard
was purely focused on the positives he saw in his own team.
The young
boss hailed his Chelsea side, who were in control from first to last minute as
they ended Manchester United's 19-match unbeaten run in all competitions at
Wembley.
"I can't ask for
any more from my players than that. The work ethic and the level of
performance," Lampard beamed.
"We
were on top and when they changed their system we were even better. I am very
proud of that performance.
"Where we are at
it is going to happen that we have some bad displays like against Sheffield
United. We have done a lot of work in the last few days and the players deserve
a huge amount of credit.
