The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has apologized for making
new errors while confirming new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria in its previous
report.
The NCDC in a series of tweet on its verified
official Twitter handle on Sunday, June 7, noted that it erroneously accredited
seven new cases to Jigawa State. The agency, however, revealed that it has
investigated the cases and discovered they are test results already confirmed
in the previously reported cases.
The
agency again promised to remain committed in the discharge of its duties.
The tweet
reads; “Yesterday, we erroneously
reported 7 new cases in r. Following further review, we can confirm that these
were repeat tests for previously confirmed cases.
“We apologize for this error and remain
committed to ensuring transparent and accurate reporting of test results.”
Meanwhile, this is coming a few moments after
the NCDC confirmed two hundred and sixty new cases of
Coronavirus in Nigeria.
