Police Arrest Student Over Alleged Gang-Rape

The Ekiti State Police Command yesterday revealed that a student of Crown Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, John Luka (not real name) has been arrested over alleged gang-rape of two female students of the citadel. This was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amba Asuquo, who noted that the suspect in the company of an accomplice committed the crime on December 9, 2019.

According to commissioner of Police, the duo accosted the two female students with dangerous weapons and forcefully took them to an abandoned building where they raped them. The police commissioner said the suspects would be charged to court after thorough investigations of the suspects.

He added that the police are making frantic efforts to arrest the other fleeing suspects. Asuquo advised students in tertiary institutions to remain focused and be committed to their studies rather than engaging in vices that could truncate their careers.
