Being a Model Is Not Just About Knowing How To Catwalk--- Imuetiyan Akemien, Face Of TopFlyers Miss Fashion 2019




Miss Imuetiyan Obasui Akemien, 21, is a Mass Communication student in the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Benin Study Center and the current Miss fashion of Face Of TopFlyers Beauty Pageant 2019. She is also a model, dancer, and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of House of Tee. In this interview with Emeke Nwaoboli, she recounts her experience in the 2019 Face of TopFlyers Beauty Pageant.

Briefly tell us about yourself?

My name is Imuetiyan Obasuyi Akemien. I hail from Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. My hobbies are dancing, travelling, laughing, and cooking.

You recently won Face of TopFlyers Miss Fashion 2019. How did you know about the pageant?

I have been a Pysmaco model for 3 years now.

Wow. Is this your first time winning in the pageant?

This year is actually my first time participating in the pageant.

How did you feel when you won the crown?

I felt good…I never expected it, but all thesame it was a good one.

What did you enjoy most about the pageant?

The outings we had (smiles)

Can you tell us a little about the outings?                       

We the contestants went for evening outings like clubbing and we also went swimming.

How old are you?

I am 21 years old.

You are quite young. From your experience, what do you think makes a good model?

Being a model is not just about knowing your catwalk routines and all that...it is more of poise/carriage.

Now that you won the Miss Fashion of the year, what's your next plan of modeling?

I will work on my pet project as expected of me then contest for other crowns

What is your pet project?


It is about ensuring environmental sanitation in my society.
