The first sanitation exercise embarked upon by sole Administrator in
Ojokoro LCDA, Hon. Dr. Waleeh Adeleke Ipaye, turn fracas as party
chieftains engage themselves in exchange of words of abuses.
The cleaning up exercise which begins from Alakuko bus stop along
Baale Animashaun street in Alagbado area of Ojokoro LCDA, which has the
resident of the former Executive Secretary, Hon. Fausat Hassan-Olajoku,
who is also a contender in the forthcoming local governmrnt elections
in Lagos State, turns fracas due to refuse dump found at the entrance
of the estwhile E.S which council sweepers on the entourage of the
sole administrator refuse to park into a waiting PSP truck.
In Hon. Adeleke Ipaye speech through one of his aide, "the sanitation
started about 700km away from the residence of Hon. Fausat (my sister)
getting to the resident, i saw plenty refuse which the council sweepers
who got there before me had refuse to clear the refuse and
immediately, i ordered them to clear it which they were doing; Hon.
Fausat came out and i stretched my hand to greet, she rejected the hand
and begin to sing."
"My supporters in the environs begin to chant 'sai baba' 'sai Ipaye',
Ipaye for chairman, which Hon. Fausat couldn’t accept. I cautioned my
followers and i accord to her all respect for being a woman and also
we are in the same political party the APC."
According to the community leaders, “Using sanitation exercise as a campaign
platform might spell doom on APC in the forthcoming local government
election in Lagos state.”
Hon. Fausat Hassan-Olajoku said, "Dr. Ipaye and his team came to art a
script already drafted before the sanitation to bring down my
reputation. Pictures were taken and everyone will see how his followers
were pointing fingers close to my face insulting my person"
"It is embarrassing to my person and am sure the party is aware of
this show of shame displayed by Dr. Ipaye and his followers. If he
doesn’t have anything against my person, the sanitation would not have commenced
on my street. It is a dirty politics in display but am very sure our
party leaders will make corrections where needed.
The ojokoro APC party chairman Prince Adewale Bello, who spoke through
is Special Adviser Mr. Muritala Adejumo said, "The party is aware of
the situation and had this juncture call for peace among party members
and the party is also working around the clock to maintain peace and
harmony among all aspirants."
The Lagos state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on 9th June dissolve all
executive secretaries in Lagos state which pave way for the sole
administrators who are currently in charge of the 20 L.G.A and 37
LCDAs pending the time elections will be conducted.
