Check out this Exclusive Interview with this Great Ghana/Nigeria Actress "Ella Mensah" only on TopFlyers Magazine

Ella Mensah is a Ghanaian Actress and a mother of the cutest boy in the world. A journalist by profession from Trans African College (Journalism School) Ghana. She did her internship at Metro TV, one of the biggest TV station in Ghana. In this exclusive interview with Topflyers magazine crew, she sheds light on her career

How did you start your career in acting?

I entered into acting by accident. A friend of mine asked me to drop her off at a movie audition venue and when we got there, I decided to wait for her to finish with the audition, so when we were about to leave, a man walked up to me and ask me to audition, and I told him I am a journalist so I am not interested but he insisted, that is how I landed myself a role in the movie. Now, acting is part of me.

Your love for camera

I love being in front of camera because I express myself better.

Parental support

My mum has always been my number one fan. She supports me in everything. She has been with me from day 1 and she is still with me. But my dad wanted me to continue with my journalism course and did not want me to be an actress. But now, he is coming around.

Challenges

I do not have any challenges. I see them as an opportunity to become stronger and better. Instead of challenges, I call them obstacles which I always overcome.

How did you get to this stage you are today in the midst of competition?

Trust me; it was not easy getting to where I am today. It was crazy but then in life, nothing is easy. Easy things do not last, like my Mum always say, but then, I’m still not yet where I want to be but am so grateful to God almighty for how far he has brought me. There is a lot to be done and by God’s grace, it will be done soon.

How many movies have you acted in, some of the titles and the ones you have produced personally?

I have featured in many movies both in Nollywood and Ghallywood. Some of the movies are; 11 am, Mirabel, Educated housemaids, Seize the moment, Onochie, In a woman's world, Playboy, Her Excellency and lots more. I do not have a personal movie produced yet but by God’s grace, I am working on something soon.

How have you been coping in the Ghana movie industry?

I am coping very well in Ghallywood, our industry is still growing and I know we will even get better.

Which part of your body is your selling point?

First of all, I know my talent is my selling point. But I also know that my body shape attract certain roles, so in that case, I will say my height, my lips and my face

Your hobbies?

I love to dance and I love watching movies.

If you are given 1 million dollars to play a “NUDE” role, would you do it?

No amount of money in this world can make me go nude. Nudity is not our culture in Africa. It’s not our tradition and at such I’m not a fan of it.

What is your advice to upcoming acts?

To my fans, I will say a big thank u to you all for all the support, love and critics. And also you all should learn how to be a goal getter, do what makes u happy and always apply the “PHD” in your lives (Prayer, Hard work and Dedication)

Your favourite meal?

My favorite meal is anything rice (jollof, fried rice, plantain) I just love rice.

How do you relax?

I relax by going on vacations. I love traveling.  Also I relax by going to the beach or poolside.

A word of note for Topflyers magazine

I want to say a big thank you to TopFlyers magazine for this honour, and I must say your magazine is one of the best I have ever seen. You guys should continue with the hard work and I believe the sky is even your starting point. God bless you all
