Barrister Felix Agbonrofo, a philanthropist, a dogged fighter for justice who has won many cases for the voiceless and the  chairman for the this year 2014, organizing committee for the birthday celebration of the blessed virgin Mary in the Catholic church of the Holy Spirit, Omole Phase 1, sheds light on the reason behind the celebration.

Today being the 14^th of Sept. 2014, we are celebrating the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus and our mother too. This is the first time we are doing it as a parish. You should understand that Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit is a new parish and we are celebrating for the first time here. It is being organized by the Legion of Mary, of which I’m a member, on behalf of the church. The lesson(s) people are going to get from this celebration is that they will learn that we have a mother who is always ready to help us at every moment. For instance, this year, we have captioned it “Mary, help of Christians”. If you observe, there is heavy rain almost everywhere but here, there is no rain; to show that today is divinely ordained that the Lord is with us and He is always ready to honour His mother.
